Write at least 250 words.

Answer

An intense debate surrounds the punishment of criminals with few advocating for the death penalty and others recommending life imprisonment. I strongly believe that capital punishment is essential as it is a justifiable and necessary measure for deterring heinous crimes.

Firstly, it is crucial to acknowledge that judicial execution does not equate to society committing murder. To brief, by taking another person’s life, killers commit the gravest of crimes, violating the fundamental right to life. Conversely, the death sentence is a legal and controlled process carried out by the state after a thorough investigation, fair trial, and exhaustiveness of the appeals process. Additionally, the death penalty acts as a powerful deterrent, dissuading potential offenders from committing similar abominable acts.

Similarly, this way of punishing the lawbreakers ensures that justice is served and caters to a compelling closure to the victims’ families. By contrast, life sentences fail to deter offenders adequately and allow them to live a comfortable life in prison, diminishing the gravity of their crimes and denying justice to the victims’ families. Moreover, in cases where murderers are imprisoned for life, there still remains a risk of escape or parole, which will end up causing peril to the society as against judicial murder which guarantees that those wrongdoers will never have a slim chance to torment others.

In conclusion, I firmly concur that legalized execution is a lawful and regulated process that averts potential malefactors, provides closure to victims’ families, and prevents offenders from living conveniently in penal institutions while safeguarding society and ensuring appropriate aftermaths for the most wicked unlawful acts.
