In Writing Task 1 (Academic Report Writing), write a minimum of 150 words. If the word count is less than 150, you will get a lower band score because it is considered that you did not explain and elaborate your points well. But that does not mean that you should write a 250-word report. Because, the lengthier your report is, the more grammatical mistakes you might make and you’ll have less time to complete the Writing Section. An IELTS Academics Report (Writing Task 1) is worth 1/3 of your overall score, so it is recommended that you spend at least 20 minutes on it and attempt this after you finish your Essay.
